Dale Grant Yates, 50, of Roanoke Rapids died Friday, August 12, 2011.

Dale was a native of Tampa, FL, the son of the late Gerald Grant Yates and Patricia Wages Hudson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Blain Yates and his stepfather, Tommie Lee Hudson. Dale was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

He is survived by his two sisters, Pamela Hudson Porch and her husband, Andy, of Roanoke Rapids, and Teresa Hudson Cherry and her husband, Michael, of Colonial Heights, VA; his brother, Rodney Yates and his wife, Brenda, of Roanoke Rapids; and his nieces and nephews, Wayne Ray Parker, Ryan Pittman, Anderson Porch, Chassie Porch, Andrea Porch, Jonathan Cherry, Madison Cherry, Danielle Yates, and Shaw Michael Yates.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 17, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, August 18, at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Billy Meinsen officiating. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
